Earn Money Online In South Africa

There are many ways to make or loose money on the internet. There is no easier way to waste your money than to get online and buy some second hand get-rich-quick e-book or product. Well. I am not going to sell you any e-book or product, but I am going to give you honest straightforward advice. I am not promising that you will make six figure incomes instantly, but I can assure you that the following is very good advice if you want to make some money on the internet.

Making Online Payments To do business online, you need a credit card. This is very important as the credit card is an international recognized way of guaranteeing that the seller will get paid for products and services delivered to you. If you are worried about using a credit card online, there are secure ways of shopping online. One way is to sign up for a free PayPal account. PayPal is an international recognized online payment system that is safe way for making and receiving online payments. At present South Africans cannot receive payments through PayPal due to governments regulations but it is still a safe way of making payments. PayPal acts as a financial intermediary, so that a third party will never have directl access to your credit card details.

Affiliate Marketing One of the best ways to make money online is affiliate marketing. Through affiliate marketing you are paid for helping to market the products and services of other businesses. First you need to register with such a company. Then place affiliate text links or banners on your website. When people click on the links or banners you are paid in accordance with a predefined fee structure. There are numerous affiliate marketing programs available in South Africa, but it is best to sign up at an affiliate network. You are not limited to marketing of South African products only, since the beauty of the online business is that you can market international products too.

South Africa has very few big affiliate networks. The top three networks are: Trafficsynergy, OfferForge and EarningsOnline. At this stage OfferForge is the largest affiliate network in South Africa, but Trafficsynergy is fast catching up. Well known businesses like Outsurance, Liberty Life, Musica and many others make use of the services of affiliate networks. When you sign up for a affiliate network account and your application is approved, you can market the products and services of more than one businesses through one account.

There are additional benefits for using an affiliate network. You can use a single username and password to access your affiliate account and it is easier to access your statistics for all the campaigns you are promoting. Also, many well known businesses like Outsurance only offer membership to their affiliate programs through affiliate networks.

Another common way of making money online is to sign up for Google adsense. Google will display ads that are relevant to the content of your website and when visitors click on any of the adsense links you will be paid per click. Just paste the relevant code provided by Google onto your website. These links will be updated frequently without any further action from your side. Just beware that Google has a reputation of terminating your account if their algorithms find any suspicious activity on it, such as too many clicks coming from one particular IP address.

Auction Sites A second way of making money online is to sell products and services through an auction site. Bidorbuy is the largest online auction site in South Africa. You can buy and sell almost anything at their site, even without a website. For security reasons, you will need a credit card to sign up.

Getting a Website You will need a website for using Google adsense. You can either design and maintain your own website or find a business to set it up for you for a fee that can vary from a few bucks to a few thousand bucks. Should you decide to do it yourself, you need to sign up for a hosting account at one of the many website hosting companies in South Africa and abroad, depending on the type of site you want. We recommend one of the following: Afrihost, IX Webhosting, Hostingmetro, or ImHosted.com.

Next, get yourself software to create and publish web pages. There are many programs that can do this, but Microsoft's FrontPage program is better if you are new to the trade. Some web hosting companies also offer an easy to use website builder that is template driven and does not require any knowledge of webdesign.

Getting a Domain name Each website needs a name, referred to as the domain name. Most international domains are ending in dotcom (.com) while South African names typically end in dotcoza (.co.za). Choosing the right domain name is vitally important.

Getting help There are many other considerations to take into account when starting a new website in terms of content, search engine optimization (SEO) and submission of your new website.

Protecting Your Children From a Lifetime of Alcohol Abuse

We all wish there was a vaccine that would immunize our children (and ourselves for that matter) from the ravages of alcohol abuse and addiction. We'd like to stop worrying about death, DUI's, and personal disaster. But there aren't any easy fixes - or even easy answers - and the best we can hope for is to make the best choices we can out of too many conflicting choices.

For example: do you want your child to abstain from alcohol and thereby avoid even the chance of alcoholism? It's true that if she or he doesn't drink alcohol then abuse, dependence, and addiction isn't in his or her future. This may be the best decision when a documented family history of alcoholism, on both sides, exists. Of course abstaining will significantly increase their risk for heart attack, stroke, Alzheimer's, and senile dementia, among other unattractive possibilities. Choices are never obvious where alcohol is concerned.

The ideal is beyond dispute: moderation, as in all things. There aren't any surprises in the prescription, but you still can't buy moderation at the corner pharmacy. That being the case, what's a parent, school, or community to do?

For parents the recipe is simple: set a good example. The cultures with the lowest alcoholism rates are those that use alcohol respectfully, joyfully, and in moderation. They do not approve of, or model, drunkenness. Parents need to treat alcohol consumption with education, risk assessment, and understanding. It isn't a lot different than muddling through that other high risk, high benefit, parental nightmare, brutal sex.

For schools the effective strategy is also pretty straightforward, education in the early grades followed by activities that develop competing interests in middle school and high school. Protection from alcohol abuse has much the same form as recovering from it - develop interests that override it. Schools should also avoid so-called "drug and alcohol awareness programs" which offer no benefit to low and high-risk students and actually increase inappropriate involvement by teenagers at medium risk levels. Schools should also enforce, as well as have, zero tolerance rules that apply equally to everyone including football players, cheerleaders, and the offspring of the rich and powerful.

Communities need to support parents and schools with their own contributions towards alternative activities and disapproval of individuals and businesses that profit from, exploit, or encourage adolescent alcohol use outside the home. It's not that hard to do and the mutual support of families, schools, and communities is as close to immunization as we're ever going to get.

As parents we can absolutely control what happen in our homes and what messages we send to our children. We can also have a great deal of influence over their schools. Swaying a community is a bigger issue, but many of us can still exercise some control over where we choose to live.

The best news in all of this is that managing two out of three of your child's environments is usually going to be enough. As with the quality of your child's education, the attitude of the home and school, the home and the community, or even the school and community, can be enough to make a lifelong difference.

It still takes two of the three, and home is the only one you can absolutely guarantee. It's where attitudes start, develop, and carry over. Why not make sure that you're doing the right thing? Drink a toast to joy and moderation at the weekly family dinner. Don't forget to pour a glass for the adolescent who is looking to you for guidance, not lectures. Remember, like brutal sex, lifelong abstinence is usually neither healthy nor to be expected. Enjoy accordingly.

American Consumers Are Short on Discipline When it Comes to Parting With Their Income

Like a 4-year-old child at the checkout counter in a supermarket, American consumers want just one more impulse buy to make their buying day complete, and apparently the more expensive it is, the better.

Here is an example: A 68-year-old, semi-retired businessman shells out $600,000 for a recreational vehicle which costs about $550 to top off at the pump. He and his wife are tooling around the country in an effort to have fun while they can.

His comment on the decision is that "This isn't a dress rehearsal for lifethis is it. We're curtailing nothing." Those big tears you see following his comment might well come from any children who see their inheritance fading away into the sunset with dad and mom.

Like a dog in heat, if we have it we tend to spend it in America.

All of this impulse buying is detailed in a recent USA Today article with this headline: "Spending is hotter than the 4th of July". And indeed it apparently is.

Although the median amount of credit-card debt carried by the typical American is about $6,600 (this is not a typo), 13% of respondents in a recent online poll reported balances higher than $25,000, according to CardTrack.com.

"Never have Americans, who have always liked their toys, been faced with a situation where their impulses are so hard to control," says Stuart Vyse, a professor of psychology and author of the upcoming book Going Broke: Why Americans Can't Hold on to Their Money.

The fact is that we as consumers can buy almost anything we want anytime we want on the easiest terms we want. Sellers and lenders have no compunctions about selling us what we do not need at a price we cannot afford and at a rate of payment that can eventually drive us into bankruptcy.

Sellers and lenders, especially credit card lenders, have raised this willingness to line their pockets at our expense to an art form. And yes, I understand and agree with the observation that we all need to be responsible for our actions.

What I do disagree with is this: How can doing the right thing with right thinking and right motives justify lending consumers money and credit when they do not deserve it, and then leaving them no smarter but broker and deeper in debt in the process?

All of this unmerited lending is creating and concentrating wealth among America's very rich, and the rich club in America is growing faster and farther away from America's poor and middle classes.

"For the first time in history, more than half of all earned income, specifically 50.4%, is going to 20% of the U. S. population, which amounts to $3.5 trillion in the hands of 23 million households," says Peter Francese, a demographic trends analyst for ad and marketing giant Ogilvy & Mather.

So more than half of the earned income in America is going to 20% of the population, leaving the other half to 80% of the working stiffs that are left to continue buying things they do not need at prices they cannot afford on credit.

A key component of this impulse spending happens because too many Americans think they can afford it when they cannot.

Families are less frugal today, in part because only 25% of households have married couples with children, a significant drop from 50% in 1960 and the lowest percentage in census history. We have a census procedure in this country to learn these kinds of sociological shifts.

There are more working couples without children who have more disposable income and keep spending rather than realizing their good fortune and saving. Leading the spending spree are the seniors mentioned at the beginning of this article.

Seniors have so much spendable income that a Luxury Marketing Council has been created to advise top brands on consumer trends for a growing group of seniors that have at least $1 million in liquid assets. They do not need to sell their home to buy a $125,000 Maserati, they simply write a check out of one of their accounts.

I personally would not encourage this kind of spending among any consumers, and especially on an automobile which is a decreasing asset. If you cannot control your impulse to buy, at least buy land or developed properties that might well appreciate over time.

The USA Today article carried information by Pitney Bowes MapInfo which identified the Top 20 Counties nationwide with the highest average expenditures annually per household. Here are the Top 7:

1) Marin, CA - $68,782

2) Fairfield, CT - $65,263

3) Fairfax, VA - $63,569

4) San Mateo, CA - $63,229

5) Morris, NJ - $62,995

6) Somerset, NJ - $62,345

7) Westchester, NY - $61,425

I identify these counties as "high rent districts" which are too expensive for most people to buy a home. One thing is for sure, if you do not make some major money, you are not going to be able to keep up with those earners who can.

Not all of us suffer from this apparent impulse to buy.

The answer to impulse control just might be in yoga. yoga taught me "impulse control", the ability to feel an urge and delay acting on it. yoga also taught me that when stability becomes a habit, maturity and clarity follow.

While earning money has a way of increasing financial intelligence quickly, I learned a long time ago that a fool and his money are some parted.

I will keep the $125,000 and you can have the Maserati. I will keep the $600,000 and you can have the recreational vehicle. Eventually, cash is king; the car and the recreational vehicle will eventually end up in the junkyard with a lot of other impulse purchases.

Family Holiday Ideas

Family holidays can be fun and exciting for all ages. Here are some pointers for finding the best holiday for your family.

First you need to determine the common interests of the family. Ask your children what they would like to see and what theyre studying in school. If you have very young old porn children then usually you will know better than them but try to get them involved. Think of you and your spouse as well; what may be great fun for the kids may be boring and annoying for the adults. Pick somewhere that all of you will enjoy or a destination that gives you the opportunity for quiet time. While kids tend to be unrealistic, you can usually accommodate their interest. For example, if they want to take an African safari you could visit the immense animal park in San Diego, California.

Theme parks are fun for the kids and offer entertainment for adults as well. Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida includes the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Universal Studios and MGM Studios. There are luxury hotels located right inside the park and a monorail takes visitors to different parts of the park so theres no need to drive. The park is not the only attraction; there are other nearby attractions including the Kennedy Space Center, Coco Beach and Sea World.

A trip through the historic east coast is another fun holiday that the kids and adults are sure to enjoy. The east coast has beautiful mountains and beaches and contains most of the United States history. Attractions are close to each other compared to the rest of the U.S. so a road trip is the best way to travel with the family to this part of the country. Historic sights include George Washingtons home in Virginia and the Arlington Cemetery. The Smithsonian Museums in Washington, D.C. are free and there is something to interest everyone. There is the Space and Aeronautics Museum that children really enjoy with life size replicas and actual aircraft showing the history of flight. Washington also contains the U.S. political buildings such as the White House and the Pentagon.

Southern California offers many sights and is especially warm and pleasant in the late fall and early spring when most of the country is cold. Los Angeles is the film industry capitol of the world. You can visit Universal Studios theme park and Disneyland. You may even be able to catch the taping of a television show. San Diego which is just about two hours south of Los Angeles is a beautiful mid size city and has many tourist options. The San Diego Zoo is world renowned and Sea World is a must see for wildlife enthusiast. If you have young old porn children then be sure to visit Legoland which has rides and even replicas of famous sights made entirely out of Legos.

Family holidays can be fun for the entire family. Its important to find a holiday that will interest the kids as well as the adults.

The Cybermagic of Whitelists

Before we start getting deep into the meat of this article it's important to explain some standard terminology to make sure the rest of this article makes sense.

  • An IP address is a number which identifies your location on the Internet.

  • A blacklist is a list of IP addresses which your antispam software uses to block incoming spam.

  • A whitelist is the exact opposite of a blacklist.

A whitelist is a predefined list of IP addresses that are allowed to send email to and receive email from each other. Blacklists exclude known and suspected spammers. Whitelists can be used to exclude everyone except known IP addresses. Think of it like this. A whitelist is a like having a phonebook which is owned by a small group of people who only wish to speak directly to each other. They don't want just anybody ringing them. Not only that but the entire group need to approve new phone numbers before they appear in this exclusive phonebook.

To send email to a whitelist you must be approved by the owner of the whitelist. This is a lot like the double optin systems used by legimiate ezines and mailing list owners. Whitelists are the biker bar bouncers of the virtual world - if you ain't on the list you ain't getting in. Simple but very effective.

A real world example of a whitelist would be if two companies wanted to exchange email only with each other. These companies could implement a whitelist that contained the IP address for just the two email servers that want to send email to each other. That would mean that any email coming from an IP address not on the whitelist would be returned to sender. For companies they can ensure that employees are only dealing with work related email and not chatting with their friends.

The benefits of whitelists are many but proper management of the whitelists is equally important. Misuse of whitelists will only lead to more headaches for everyone involved with missing email, irate customers and IT departments doing overtime just being the tip of the iceberg.
